About Us

"I met Nick in 2008...or maybe 2009, through a mutual friend. For a few years after that, every time we got together we had this uncanny habit of knowing the exact same songs and being able to play them - completely one-off and impromptu. It didn't take long to figure out that this was, in fact, a very good thing and we should probably start a band...eventually. I got the phone call in April 2012. Nick had found Jamey, and started jamming around with him a bit. I joined to see how things fit, and by the end of the first practice there was no question. This band grabbed me by the collar and I wouldn't have it any other way."

Love and light,

"In 2008 or so, I met Trev through some interesting circumstances. The first time we jammed, I could feel some sort of deep connection not only musically, but mentally as well. We could play songs a whim and they were usually already a performance level... well not all the time. The energy and connection was there though. We wanted to start a band badly, but distance had proven to be a difficult obstacle. When I started attending LVC, I knew this was the perfect opportunity to start a band, but with whom? I met Jamey my first semester and instantly started collaborating, A drummer was all we needed and Trev was the first to come to mind. Not long after, we set up a time for a jam. Within three hours, something new had been created. A unbreakable unity had been conjured that was not going to be disappearing."

In three,

"It didn't take long for me to realize I wanted to start a band with Nick, I conversed with him after a few sets at MJ's Coffeehouse for their Monday Open Mic Nights. After Nick and I started playing, instantly it clicked, we needed a drummer. Nick told me of this guy Trev that he met in a prior summer, saying 'the guy is obsessed with Audioslave'. Right then, I had a good feeling about this potential group. I distinctly remember learning Soundgarden's Spoonman, on the fly as Nick and Trev went straight into it at our first Jam. That first Jam we started writing, because it was pretty much a unspoken, unanimous yes for all of us that we would form a band. That first jam we had as a trio, now one of our first songs, called Black the Sun. I love the concept of a grunge trio, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Our musicianship, and personalities are so intertwined that these two guys have become brothers of mine in a shorter time than anyone could ever imagine."

We are the black plague generation,

Paradrei went through many different name ideas, but could never collectively decide on a name that sounded perfect and had a deep meaning. After a night of throwing out names, Jamey went back to his room and started fusing words together. Through many variations discussed between the three of them, PARADREI outshined all the rest.
